Every Patriot PAWS Purpose Puppy embarks on a life-changing journey to become a Service Dog for a disabled American Veteran. By sponsoring a Purpose Puppy, you help cover the cost of training, veterinary care, and supplies, paving the way for a brighter future for both the dog and the Veteran they’ll serve.
At Patriot PAWS, every Service Dog we raise will change a Veteran’s life forever. From the moment a puppy is born through years of expert training and placement—and throughout its working life—we stand behind both the dog and the Veteran it serves.
Your generosity powers the entire journey: early development and socialization, advanced training in more than 65 life-changing tasks, specialized equipment, lifetime Veteran support, and even free veterinary care and special nutrition when needed. All of this is provided at no cost to the Veteran.
Creating and sustaining one of these life-changing teams requires a base investment of more than $46,000. Our Scholarship Program bridges that cost, ensuring that the men and women who served our country never have to pay for the independence they’ve earned.

Supporting a Service Dog & Veteran team every step of the way.
Your Lifetime Scholarship makes it possible for a Purpose Puppy to be trained, supported, and cared for throughout their entire career—whether that’s as a Public Access Service Dog, an In-Home Working Dog, or another vital working role.

Building future Service Dogs from day one.
Support the first 8 weeks of life for an entire litter of Purpose Puppies, providing critical beginning development.

- The right to name the theme of the litter (with final approval)
- Litter Announcement
- Puppy Cam branding with your name/logo while the litter is in the Puppy Development Center
- An update when the litter moves from the PDC & into formal training

While our training is designed to prepare each Purpose Puppy for work as a Public Access Service Dog, we honor the individual strengths and temperaments of every dog. Some pursue equally impactful roles—like In-Home Working Dogs or Facility Dogs—where they provide support, stability, and comfort to those who need it most.
Your investment ensures that the dog you sponsor will serve a meaningful role and make a lasting difference, wherever their greatest impact can be achieved.
Should your sponsored dog join our breeding program, we’ll contact you to discuss updates, special sponsor recognition, and how to best celebrate their ongoing contribution.
Scholarship FAQs
Yes. Patriot PAWS accepts grants from Donor Advised Funds, private/family foundations, and charitable trusts. Simply direct your fund to issue the grant to Patriot PAWS Service Dogs (EIN: 04-3815107) and note that it is for a Scholarship.
Absolutely. We can accept gifts of appreciated securities, which may also offer tax advantages. Please contact us at lvaughan@patriotpaws.org for transfer instructions.
Yes — qualified charitable distributions (QCDs) from an IRA can be used to fund a Scholarship gift if you are eligible. Ask your financial advisor to initiate the transfer to Patriot PAWS Service Dogs.
Yes! Many businesses and community groups fund scholarships. Corporate partners can also be recognized on our website, at events, and in communications.

Definitely. Many donors dedicate their scholarship to honor a loved one, business, or organization. We will include that dedication in naming and recognition.
Every dog is trained with the goal of Public Access service, but some discover talents better suited to roles such as In-Home Working Dog or Facility Dog. Your gift still changes lives, and you’ll continue to receive updates about your dog’s career path.
