The Dallas Assembly of the Brotherhood of St. Andrew and Patriot PAWS Service Dogs have selected a 2021 date for the 9th Annual Charity Golf Tournament, which was postponed in 2020 due to COVID-19. The tournament, originally scheduled for May 15th 2020, will now be held on Friday, September 24th Firewheel Golf Park in Garland.  Tournament day check-in and registration begins at 10:30 am, with a Shotgun Start at 12:00 pm. The entry fee for individual golfers is $150, and includes cart fees, driving and putting ranges, lunch will be provided prior to the Shotgun Start and Awards Dinner is scheduled after the tournament wraps that evening. Corporate, individual, and team sponsorship opportunities are available. Donations are welcome and appreciated.

All proceeds from the tournament go toward helping Patriot PAWS train and provide service dogs of the highest quality at no cost to disabled American veterans with mobile disabilities, in order to help restore their physical and emotional independence.

“We are so grateful to The Dallas Assembly of the Brotherhood of St. Andrew,” said Patriot PAWS Executive Director and Founder, Lori Stevens. “This wonderful, generous group has been a good friend to Patriot PAWS for many years and we simply could not do what we do without their support.”

Check out one of our newest Dog Sponsor Partners.  EnableComp named the puppy they are sponsoring, Lex, to represent the compLEX claims they handle for hospitals across the country.  Good boy, Lex!

We are excited to announce that our friends at Business Jet Cares, the 501(c)(3) charitable organization created by Business Jet Center and Business Jet Access, will once again support Patriot PAWS at its 7th Annual Cleared to Land on the Green Charity Golf Tournament on November 15, 2019.  The Scramble Format Tournament, held at the elite Cowboys Golf Club in Grapevine, TX kicks off with a gourmet breakfast, followed by a putting and chipping contest. Golfers then hit the course for a 10:00 am shotgun start where they participate in various on-course games and competitions at each hole, as well as enjoyed a plethora of giveaways, snacks, and specialty drinks throughout the day.

Last year, the tournament raised a record-breaking $60,000, which was donated to Patriot PAWS and our co-beneficiary, Folds of Honor.  Cat Clay, Tournament Coordinator,  said, “I am still in complete awe of all the support Business Jet Cares has received. This tournament has quickly grown into something much bigger than we ever expected and we couldn’t be more thankful for all the sponsors, golfers, and  volunteers. Freedom doesn’t come free and this is a very small way for us to ‘thank you’ to all the men and women who have and continue to put their lives on the line.”

Main highlights at the 2018 tournament included a Beat the Pro hole where golfers had the opportunity to knock it closer to the hole than former LPGA golfer, Chelsea Kinard; and the Cannon Shoot where golfers were given the chance to shoot their golf ball 400 yards out of a custom cannon onto the green in exchange for a small donation to the tournament charities. Of course, we brought puppies in training to the course and they were able to mingle with the golfers and pose for photos. An awards ceremony and dinner wrapped up the day with special guest speakers from Folds of Honor and Patriot PAWS sharing personal testimonies on how each charity has assisted, and changed the lives of their families. To end the evening, Apple Watches and the opportunity to name a puppy in training were raffled off as grand prizes.

Patriot PAWS Service Dogs proudly participated in Carry The Load’s Memorial May East Coast Relay kickoff in West Point, NY this year.  Carry The Load is a non-profit dedicated to providing active, meaningful ways to honor and celebrate the sacrifices made by our nation’s heroes — military, veterans, first responders and their families.  Each year, throughout the month of May, three routes – East Coast, West Coast and Midwest – operate daily handing off the American flag every 5 miles of walking and/or cycling.  More than 11,500 miles of ground covered provides a chance to get out the message about honoring our nation’s heroes and focusing on the true meaning of Memorial Day.

As part of its mission, Carry The Load selects and raises funds to support non-profit partners that provide healing services for the mind, body or soul of our warriors. Patriot PAWS is very proud to be one of these non-profit partners and proud to be part of the positive impact that Carry The Load is making on the lives of our nation’s heroes.

We are excited to announce our Fall Service Dog Graduation will be held at the Hilton Rockwall Lakefront-Bella Harbor Ballroom at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 27th.
